After six years of developing a friendship and sharing professional goals, she and Mary Kreis, OTR/L combined practices and established Kids Unlimited Therapy Services, LLC in 2009. As an adoptive mother with a medically complex child, now adult, Mary has special insight with the concerns of parents with children who have special needs.

Her 1987 Occupational Therapy Master’s Degree from Rush University in Chicago focused on Sensory Integration Theory. Mary updates her clinical skills through numerous workshops and courses she attends each year. She has specialized training in the Neurodevelopmental Treatment approach, Sensory Integration, Handwriting Without Tears, Therapeutic Listening, Quick Shifts, SAMONAS, Interactive Metronome, the Wilbarger Protocol, and “Astronaut Training: A Sound-Activated Visual-Vestibular Protocol.”

Mary has developed Fine Motor/Handwriting camps for children struggling with pre-readiness skills on through cursive writing. Her camps maintain one-to- one supervision while each child is challenged to develop all the prerequisite skills for good penmanship: visual-perceptual/motor skills, hand strengthening and coordination, eye-hand skill development and core strengthening supporting good posture. Camps are held year-round and combine several approaches, including Handwriting Without Tears®, Connect-Experience- Write® and Size Matters Handwriting Program. Sensory supports are incorporated into each session along with a lot of fun!

"Each child is unique and has potential. Helping a child and his or her family embrace what makes them special while overcoming obstacles to their reaching “the best they can be” is very rewarding! Children need to be loved for who they are and helped with discovering how to fight their fears and free themselves to experience all that life has to offer."
